A30 Route: after entering Cornwall and passing Launceston you travel across Bodmin Moor. Jamaica Inn, made famous by Daphne Du Maurier in her book of the same name, overlooks the A30 at Bolventor in the middle of the Moor. Approximately 1½ miles after Jamaica Inn take the left turn signposted St. Neot, Mount, Warleggan and Colliford Lake. Pass Colliford Lake on your left and continue to St. Neot, ~5 miles. At the T junction turn left, dropping down into St. Neot, the Post Office is on your right and the Church on your left. Follow the road through the village following signs to Liskeard, passing Carnglaze Slate Caverns. After about 2 miles you will arrive at a T junction with the main A38 Bodmin to Plymouth road. Immediately before this junction turn right, passing in front of the row of cottages.
Continue to the Lodge gates on the right. Pass through the gates and up the drive bordered by pine trees. The manor house overlooks the picturesque wooded Glynn valley and the River Fowey.
A38 Route: from Plymouth head for Bodmin, passing Liskeard and through Dobwalls onto the Bodmin road. Pass through Doublebois. After ~1 mile turn right at the sign to St Neot and Carnglaze Slate Caverns, then immediately left past the cottages. Continue to the Lodge gates as above
